Our Course Offerings

HLS Billings is a full-time school (we meet two-days-a-week in person and students study at home on the other school days) for K-10th. We have some flexibility as we work to develop 9-12th grade in the coming years. For this year, full-time for 10th grade or higher is taken on a case-by-case basis (possibilities depend on the courses needed/offered). Don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.

A few things to note – Latin is required of all full-time students beginning in 2nd grade. Cursive is required starting in 1st grade. Uniforms are required for all students attending HLS-Billings. Some compatible grades and/or subjects may be combined as necessary depending on enrollment. If you have any questions about any of the curriculum or subjects being taught, please contact us!

We offer a full day primary school program for kindergarten through second grade on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Primary school classes are directed by a lead teacher. Grade-specific subjects include math, phonics, literature, Christian studies, penmanship, enrichment (including art, music, poetry, and read-aloud picture books), and more.

Grammar school students in third through sixth grade may enroll in a full day of core classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Grade-specific subjects include classic literature, spelling, Latin, classical studies, Christian studies, math, composition, cursive, science, grammar recitation/language arts, and geography.

We offer a full day upper school program for students in seventh through ninth grade on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Grade-specific subjects include classic literature, Latin, classical studies, Christian studies, algebra, composition, science, and English grammar recitation/language arts. Seventh includes geography. Eighth includes American history. Ninth includes logic.

We have some flexibility as we work to develop ninth through twelfth grade in the coming years. For the 2022-2023 school year, full-time enrollment for tenth grade or higher is taken on a case-by-case basis (possibilities depend on the courses needed / offered).
